Experience
The elementary academic experience is designed to challenge students while building a strong spiritual foundation. Our goal is to see our students’ strengths and talents nurtured in a classroom that inspires them to reach their full God-given potential. Elementary teachers encourage students to walk out their faith daily, creating a safe environment for learning and character development.
Integrated Curriculum
Our rigorous curriculum encourages students at an early age to view traditional subjects through a Christian worldview. Phonics, reading, writing, math, science, and history are integrated with Christian values and principles. To support our Christian vision and mission, we have adopted textbooks published by Bob Jones University Press, Abeka, and Positive Action for Christ. For reading and spelling, we employ the phonics-based method called The Writing Road to Reading.
Special Classes
At LCS we desire to give every student a diverse learning experience. In addition to the traditional academic classes, all elementary students have weekly art, sign language, Spanish, library, and music classes. A weekly chapel meeting is also a highlight for all elementary students. Exposure to these unique opportunities ensures a well-rounded educational experience.
Community Service
Students share God’s love by making a difference in our community in a variety of ways. Classes participate in local outreach, visit area nursing homes to sing with residents, sell lemonade and baked goods to raise money for charity, participate in food and shoe drives, and more.
Active Lifestyle
We place a high value on the physical and mental benefits of an active lifestyle. Daily outdoor recess and physical education classes create opportunities for students to stay mentally and physically fit.
Field Trips
Each teacher carefully selects multiple field trips per year that are designed to bring class concepts to life and make learning fun!
