History

Longview Christian Fellowship School was birthed out a vision to have a school where students would receive a quality education with Christ as the center.  Our founders knew that removing God from the classroom would result in the downfall of America’s youth.

The school began as a ministry of Longview Christian Fellowship Church (now HighRidge Church) in September 1982 with thirty-one students in grades K - 12.  LCFS continued steady growth to approximately 120 students by 2000.  Merging with Maranatha Christian High School that same year brought additional families and a new name: Longview Christian School.  In the spring of 2012, we purchased a new 20 acre property in central Longview (formerly Forest Park Middle School) and immediately began renovations.  In the fall of 2012 the entire school was moved to our current campus, and we opened our new LCS Early Learning Center for children ages 6 weeks - four years.  In 2019, LCS became an independent, community Christian School (with the full support of HighRidge Church) to pursue a desire to partner with all churches in the East Texas area.  With current enrollment of approximately 440 students and plans for continued growth, LCS continues to excel in educating and inspiring the leaders of the future.
